Translator’s profile
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Ronald Magallanes graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with a degree in physics. He worked at Hughes Aircraft and McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in aircraft manufacturing support as a scientific software programmer. With a keen interest in Japanese society and technology, he came to Tokyo in 1985 and entered Human Global Communications in the same year. Initially serving as a technical writing instructor and technical editor at the company, he has been working as a Japanese-to-English technical translator for almost 30 years. His fields of expertise in translation include telecommunications, mobile communications, semiconductor development and manufacturing, encryption, network and database technologies, cloud technology, virtualization, Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. He specializes in translating highly technical journal papers for leading high-tech companies and universities in Japan.
