Lesson 52 On time
ポイント
Last week we looked at the general rules for using “in,” “on,” and “at” for space. This week we’ll look at how to use “in,” “on,” and “at” to describe time.

Vicky: What’s your schedule this week?
Yoko: I’m meeting a client on 9.00 at the morning in Thursday.
解説
As a general rule, we use “in” for parts of the day (in the morning), months (in April), seasons (in spring), years (in 2017), decades (in the 2010s), centuries (in the 2000s), and historical periods (in the Heisei Era). We use “on” for days (on Monday) and dates (on the 30th). We use “at” for specific times (“at 1:00”, “at midnight”) and for holiday periods (at Obon, at New Year). However, one exception is we say “at night” not “in night”. So Yoko should say, “I’m meeting a client at 9.00 in the morning on Thursday.”
